I Found a Fairy in My Garden

Have you ever dreamed of meeting a Fairy…You know when you go into the garden early in the morning, when the dew is still fresh on the plants and you you hear this slight rustle amongst the leaves, did you know those are the fairy’s getting ready for bed after a night’s work in your garden…

My mom always told me stories of the fairy’s. She would leave daisy crowns for me to find and tell me that the fairy’s made them in the moonlight for me. She collected fairy books and created exquisite embroidery, with intricate details. This fairy world was part of what I grew up with. One made of magic, wishes and stories from dusty books.

A couple of years ago, I met a real life fairy. I just didn’t know that she was really a fairy (Fairy’s have this way of hiding themselves until they know you really believe in them)

I did a plant/seed swap with a girl with magical eyes and wild curly hair and then many months later, we met up again when I bought some of her natural and organic body products. Through conversation and me buying items from her range, I sheepishly asked her if she would allow me to take some product photos for her? And so this relationship grew into something beautiful. . The days that I spend taking her product photos, my house smells so magical and my camera even has a sprinkle of gold fairy dust on it from the last shoot.

I am so grateful for the working relationship that has turned into a very deep friendship. Spending time in her company always inspires me and a quick pop in often ends up being an hour long conversation and gets our creative juices flowing. We have also solved many world problems too!

This lady is one amazing business center. She does everything herself, from initial concept, production, packing and shipping to logistics as well as her own branding and marketing. I have had many conversations with her on how her business runs and she is always sharing tips and trips that help me figure things out and her encouragement has helped me become a better version of who I am and can be!

Through many collaborations, I finally dived in and had the fairy workshop make a beautiful handmade artisan soap for me to sell online in my shop. We have been working quietly creating some beautiful items that will be up for sale soon, but the one I am most proud of is the stunning Wildflower Daisy soap that will be available in the next 2 weeks, so watch this space and keep an eye out for the follow up blog post about the productive day we spent in the Fairy Workshop creating some daisy magic!
